Schnell, Carol Ann


Carol Ann Schnell (nee Helfers), died peacefully at home in Fairview, Texas on Friday, May 30th, after a long battle with cancer.  She is survived by children Ann Beck (Perry), Jessica Bradley (Brandon) and Joshua (Marija); grandchildren Jordan Crittenden (Candra), Kyle Crittenden, JD Beck, Vassily Schnell, Nikola Schnell, Hunter Beck, Cameron Beck, Alexandra Beck and Preston Beck; her brother, David Helfers (Sandy) and sisters-in-law Tracey O’Connor (Fred) and Diane Rambeau; nieces/nephews Steven Helfers, Deborah Helfers, Stephanie Overby, Jeremy Overby, Kim Kane, Michelle York and Matt Rambeau,  She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend, an avid tennis player and golfer, a phenomenal cook, a long-time member of Messiah Lutheran Church and loved spending time tending to her beautiful backyard garden.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Services will be Monday, June 2nd at 1 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church at 1801 West Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75075 (972-398-7500).  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.  Contact Jessica ([email protected]) for details about how to donate online.

Carol will be sorely missed. I tickled the blooms on my watermelon plants with a small paintbrush yesterday (her sage advice because I didn’t have the right kind of bees). Every watermelon I grow will be a bittersweet reminder to me of a dear friend.
