    Marci, Michael, and Jeffrey;

    I will always remember Joe. He was one of the funniest people I have ever known. He had a saying for everything (almost) which I loosely called “Bowyerisms”. I hired Joe in March 1977 to be our Lear Jet Chief Flight Instructor, a new type rating course we were setting up at Flight Pro. We shared many adventures and misadventures prior to the airlines and during several furloughs and a strike. It always amazed me how he could appeared to be so unorganized and then get in an airplane and fly it like a master or play a guitar like a virtuoso. One of a kind and I wish he were still here.

    My memories of flying with Joe can be summed up with Hebrews 13:2 “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Joe was a friend and protector to all, never met a stranger, and I know without a doubt is very welcome in Heaven. God bless and keep the friends and family he left behind. Sherri Dickey Porterfield, American Airlines (former CAL)

    Marci and the Boys,
    Joe was a close personal friend of mind in and outside the world of aviation. The best pilot in the world, good friend and I will miss him greatly as I know you will. Joe got me my Lr.Jet rating and he was my first B-737 student some 30+ years ago at Ray’s Flight Systems, Inc.

    Clear sky’s my friend as you fly West.
