Obituary of Carr, Debra "Debi" Colleen

Debra “Debi” Colleen Carr, 57, of Garland, Texas passed away peacefully at Baylor Medical Center – Garland on Friday, June 6, 2014 surrounded by her family. While Debi battled COPD for much of her life, she never lost her sense of humor or her determination to live her life independently and on her own terms. Debi was very much loved. Debi was born in Prague, Oklahoma to Eddie Junior Carr and Wanda Louise Collins Carr on March 11, 1957. She grew up in Henryetta, Oklahoma and attended school there, but ultimately made her home in Richardson, Dallas, Mesquite, and finally Garland, Texas. Debi worked in telemarketing. Debi enjoyed Southern Rock Music, Harley culture, Coca Cola, Classic movies, Burgers, Fries, and Chocolate Shakes, TV Wrestling, The Lucy Show and Lonesome Dove, Word Search, TV Show Supernatural, camping out, fishing at the lake, telling jokes, gardening, cooking, pet rabbits, billiards, and Thanksgiving Celebrations with Family. She was a down-to-earth easy spirit, full of child-like mischief who took joy in the simple things of life. Debi was preceded in death by her loving Father, Eddie Junior Carr (Pop) and we know that Pop greeted her warmly at the pearly gates and that they are telling jokes and looking down fondly on the rest of us as we live out God’s plan. Debi is survived by Mother, Wanda Louise Collins Cloud and husband Roy; Brothers, Eddie Bruce Carr and wife Becky; Jed Cloud and wife Sheryl; Nephews Cody Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Jaxon Cloud, Aaron Cloud and wife, Amanda, Charlie Cloud and wife Nicole, and Brayden Cloud; Nieces Jennifer Martin, Debbie Anderson, Shay Cloud, and many other cousins and friends. A Graveside Service is planned for Saturday June 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Garland Memorial Park, 1600 S Garland Ave, Garland, Texas 75040. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations or remembrances may be sent to her Mother, Louise Cloud, at 980 Sapphire Ridge, Oak Point, TX 75068. For confirmation of graveside services at 1:00 pm, please check back on this site or call Bruce at 214-918-1689 for details. Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.

I have known debi for a couple years now threw my Father Leonard. They stayed in Senior Care of Garland and Pleasant Valley together for awhile. She was a very very sweet lady, She would light up when I would bring my kids in to see my father. My 2 youngest kids always looked forward to seeing her when we would go visit. She just thought they were the cutest things…And she LOVED buying them candy..lol.She was a very good friend to my father as they both suffered COPD. Praying for the family in this rough time!
