Thought Rosa was a very sweet person. She certainly knew herbs and always welcomed people to see her garden. She was very kind to me as a new Master Gardener.
Rosa’s zeal for all things herbal impressed so many folks. I still have the last herbal vinegar she gave me; I couldn’t bear to use it up. Rosa and my mother were friends through Business & Professional Women, so that’s how I met her. She had a wry little sense of humor, too. Condolences to all who miss sweet Rosa.
I am so sorry to hear of Rosa’s passing. She was such an influence on so many women in Business and Professional Women’s organization (BPW)and I’ll always treasure knowing her. RIP Rosa
Rosa was a founding member of the North Texas Unit of the Herb Society of America, and a great source of herbal knowledge in her own right. She served the unit in many capacities over the years, including unit chairperson. She also served as on the national board as District Delegate, and was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation from the Herb Society. She started and worked to maintain a herb garden at the Polk Vanguard Elementary School in Dallas, and at the Dallas Arboretum, she initiated the restoration of an old herb garden and helped make it into a show place. She served the Herb Society well, and is loved and remembered by us all.
