Shires, Mary Frances


Mary Frances Shires went to our Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, age 79.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 6-8 pm @ North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch 75234.  Services will be held at same location on Friday, July 25, 2014 @ 11:00am.

Mary was born on March 14, 1935 in Kingsport, Tennessee.  She moved to Texas after marrying the love of her life, Charles L. Shires.  They lived in Farmers Branch where they raised their daughter, Beth Shires-Frettoloso.  She had two grandsons that she was very proud of and loved dearly, Ryan L. Holcombe of Tampa, Fl and Stephen L. Holcombe of Carrollton, Texas.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister & friend.  She loved the Lord and loved her church, Second Change Baptist Church of Farmers Branch.  She enjoyed volunteering at a nursing home for many years.  She was also a Girl Scout Leader for troop 179.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 40 1/2 years, Charles L. Shires, Farther Arlie Adams, Mother Jessie Adams, brother Howard Adams, Doug Adams and Sister Jean Beardon.

She is survived by daughter, Beth Shires-Frettoloso, Husband Tommy of Carrollton, Texas, grandsons Ryan L. Holcombe of Tampa, Fl. and Stephen L. Holcombe of Carrollton, Texas, brother Clifford Adams and wife Elaine  of Kemp, Texas, sister Stella Di Muzio and husband Armando of  Watauga, Texas, brother Robert Adams of Copeville, Texas.  She had 24 nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to Good Shepard Hospice or Second Chance Baptist Church.
