Perry, William "Bill" Harold
William “Bill” Harold Perry was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 19, 1951 to Evelyn and Ike Perry. Bill was the eldest of four children and spent his youth in Vassar, Michigan. Bill graduated from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa with a B.S. in Education and a minor in Economics. After graduating from college, he moved to Kansas City, MO, where he worked in the insurance industry for many years. He met his wife, Debbie Perry, in Kansas City; they were married for thirty seven years until his death. During their thirty seven years together, they lived in Overland Park, Kansas and Dallas, Texas. Debbie and Bill had one son, Justin Perry, who resides in Dallas, Texas. In the later years of his life, Bill was employed as a teacher for the Dallas Independent School District. He took great pride in working with his students for the betterment of their future. Bill loved snow skiing, camping, hiking, scuba diving, gardening and grilling or smoking his favorite meats. He was happiest spending time with his wife, son, extended family and friends enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Bill felt his greatest accomplishment was raising his son, Justin, to be the wonderful man he is today. Bill Perry passed away at his home on July 12, 2014 following a long, hard battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He fought this disease with dignity and grace. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, and son, Justin. He is also survived by three siblings; Linda (Vince) Lewis, West Des Moines, Iowa, Ric Perry, Clearwater, Florida, and Ann Meyer, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and sister-in-law, Melinda Miles-Harp (Richard Harp) of Dallas, Texas. Other survivors include nephews and nieces; Ryan (Annabelle) Miles, Logan Miles, Chelan (Henry) Lewis-Ortiz, Jeremy Lewis, Melissa Lewis, Michael (Ann) Lewis, Rob Perry, Ryan Perry, Dylan Meyer, and Brooke Meyer and a wealth of great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dallas, Texas at 11 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2014. Following the Mass, a fellowship luncheon will be held at Trinity Hall Restaurant located at 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas. Donations can be made in Bill’s name to curepsp.org or 30 E. Padonia Road, Suite 201, Timonium, Maryland 21093 or to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dallas, Texas. Bill will be missed by all who knew him; especially, his wife, son, and their beloved dogs, Ginger and Stella Rose. Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.
