Bain, Travis Whitsett
Travis Whitsett Bain II, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, TX on Tuesday July 29, 2014 after a brief illness. Throughout his life, Travis had a passion for leadership.Ā A graduate of the University of Texas and Harvard Business School, Travis pursued his passion professionally as president of W.E. Walker Stores, Sunbelt Nursery, Jarman Shoe Company, and co-owner of Riverbend Sandler Pools. However, Travis will be best remembered for his leadership by example; achieving success with integrity and perseverance; honoring his commitment as a husband and partner with 52 years of marriage, demonstrating unconditional devotion and sacrifice to his children, and serving as a spiritual beacon of extraordinary faith. Travis joins his wife, Karlen, in heaven watching over his sister Gladys Jenson, sons Whit and Jim, son-in-law JR McGinnis, nephews Bill, Walt, and Doug Jennings and niece Julie Buell, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Ā Memorial services will be held at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10am.Ā In lieu of flowers, Travis has requested a memorial donation be made to Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75230.
