Fredd, James Brian

Jim Brian Freed of Dallas, Texas left his body peacefully on Friday, August 8th, 2014, in Plano, Texas, just 12 days shy of his 64th birthday. He fought his colon cancer for nearly 2 years.

A native Dallasite, Jim earned his Bachelor and Master degrees in journalism at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.   He loved nature photography, and enjoyed vacationing in Colorado and Hawaii for the beautiful scenery.   Besides travelling, his interests included reading, listening to classical music, cooking, building fine-scale models, and caring for his cats, Rudy and Cissy.

Jim was preceded in in death by his father, John.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; his mother, Jackie; his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Kathi; his nephew, Brian; and many, many friends and others whose lives he touched.

We will all greatly miss him.

Karen, so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I'm sure he brought life and joy to everyone he met. My prayer for you is God will wrap his loving arms around you and give you peace.

Dear Karen and Jackie,
Not only was I so very sorry to hear about Jim's passing, but I regret not having seen him or you for such a long time. There are so many laughing memories of Jim in my mind, like the time I almost fell on his head when we were rehearsing "Carmen". Jim remains the only person who ever managed to crack me up on stage. Unfortunately, a previous commitment will prevent my attending the memorial celebration, but be assured my thoughts will be with you and with all his family and friends. The world will be a little darker without him.

I am so sorry to hear that Jim is no longer with us. The world is a bit dimmer without him and his intelligence and humor.
