Obituary of ANN HILL EASTMAN

Ann Hill Eastman was born in Williamsport, PA on January 10, 1936, to loving parents Spencer and Olive Hill. She passed away on September 10, 2022. She was 86 years old.

Ann loved spending time with her family, particularly during the summer when she vacationed in Galveston, Texas with family members. She loved fresh seafood, and a vacation highlight every summer was greeting the local shrimp boats to buy shrimp for a shrimp boil feast.

Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, which she made extra special for her family and friends by hosting an open house every Christmas Eve serving such delights as homemade cookies, sugar plum cake, dried beef rolls, shrimp dip and the like. She always prepared the Christmas Day feast and never forgot her cinnamon apples and the John Cope’s corn!

She played bridge, was an avid reader of the latest novels, belonged to a monthly book club and a supper club. She never missed a Williamsport High School or John’s Hopkins reunion. Her favorite T.V. show was the Carol Burnett Show.

Ann handled many hard challenges in her lifetime, but she always met them head on with grit and determination. She was a strong, loving woman who led a purposeful life in both family and career. Throughout the ups and downs, she maintained a positive attitude and kept kindness, forgiveness and love in the forefront.

She was a graduate of Wilson College and John’s Hopkins School of Nursing. She received her master’s degree in Nursing from Texas Women’s University. She had a lengthy and successful career as a school nurse for the Carrollton/Farmer’s Branch School District and Health Administrator for the Dallas Independent School District. She was a recipient of several prestigious awards commending her exemplary service to public school health.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Robin Ann Eastman of Arlington, TX, Holly Gray Studinger and son-in-law Bob Studinger of Englewood, CO, her granddaughters, Sylvia Ramirez of Bryan, TX, and Emily Ramirez of Arlington, TX, and a great grandson, Kylan Ramirez of Arlington, TX; her sister, Irene Mnick  and brother-in-law Joe Mnick of Fort Mill, SC, and her brother, Spencer Hill of Littleton, CO; nephew Jeff  Mnick of San Antonio, TX, and niece Stacey Mnick Vinson of Charlotte, NC.  She also leaves behind numerous loving friends.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to North Dallas Funeral Home, A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 24,2022  at 12:00pm at North Dallas Funeral Home located at 2710 Valley View Ln, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. Mrs. Eastman will be laid to rest at the Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, PA.

As I sat next to your bed, stroking your hair and humming our tune, you smiled and opened your eyes; looking at me you said “You Love Me Very Much, Don’t You.” It wasn’t really a question, as much as an affirmation. Thank you mom for teaching me to love. Rest In Peace

You took me in when I was young and in need. You opened your home to everyone on Christmas Eve’s. What great memories of those fun, unconditionally loving (and smoke filled) evenings! Your home was always welcoming and open. Thank you.
I’m so happy we got to visit not so long ago. I know you are at peace and in the loving arms of Christ.
Go in peace and know that you were loved.
God bless you Robin for all that you have done and the love and care that you have given your Mom for so many years. May you find peace as well. Love you, my friend.
