Obituary of
Arney, Billy J.
Billy J Arney, a native of Houston and most recently of Dallas, passed away peacefully, November 11, 2008 (Veteran's Day) in his home after an unexpected illness. A Marine Corp Veteran of World War II, Billy served in Bataan and Corregidor in the Philippine Islands. He spent more than four years in Japanese prisoner of war camps. He is survived by his sons John M. Arney and his partner Gregory S. Waite of Dallas and David N. Arney of Erie, Pennsylvania, sister-in law Doris Messer, brother-in-laws Ed Roache of California, William G. Hand of Nacogdoches, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Myra Jo Arney, his parents Mack and Alma Arney and sister Gussie Leah Arney-Rowan. A graveside service with military honors will take place at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2008 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas
