Dear Children and Family of Mrs. Barnum:
I consider myself privileged to have worked along with and supervised your mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend as a teacher at Claiborne School in New Orleans. As her principal, I observed Mrs. Barnum to be a gifted instructor whose passion was to ensure that students under her guidance learned and would be able to leave their footprints in the sands of time. It was also my good fortune to reconnect with her after Katrina, and I will long remember our long chats, her lovely handwritten notes, and the beautiful poetry that she so graciously shared with me.

On Saturday morning, heaven added a new member to its choir and the angels gladly welcomed this soldier of Christ into this beautiful kingdom. God bless you, Ms. Barnum, as you rest in the bosom of your Maker.
