Billie Ferguson

August 11, 1925 - November 11, 2021

Billie Lucille “Cindy” Ferguson passed away on November 11, 2021 at the age of 96.

Cindy was born in Sonora, Texas on August 11, 1925 to Gladys and William Benson.  She earned a B.A. in Home Economics from Southern Methodist University, and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. While at SMU, she met her future husband Charles Ferguson.  They raised two daughters, Rebecca and Rachel, and their son Ben.

Cindy loved to entertain and was famous for her wonderful parties and memorable holiday meals. She enjoyed traveling the world with Charles on adventures such as the running of the bulls in Pomplona and glacier hiking in Alaska.  Cindy was committed to civic causes, volunteering at the Children’s Development Center and giving generously to the Volunteer Services Council at Denton State Supported Living Center.

Cindy was preceded in death by her husband and her brothers Thomas Benson and Russell Benson.  She is survived by her children, Rebecca, Rachel, and Ben (Robyn); her grandchildren Taylor (Brian) and J.B. (Vivian); and the three great-granddaughters she adored: Eleanor, Frances, and Phoebe.

A private family service will be held. If you would like to make a donation in Cindy’s memory, please consider the Volunteer Services Council at Denton State Supported Living Center. https://www.vscdenton.org
