āI highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brotherās arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.ā

Obituary of
BOUNDS, ALICE J.
Born July 7, 1921 in Knoxville, Tennessee; passed away May 23, 2008 in Plano, Texas. There are people who enrich our lives by leaving their imprint on our hearts. Alice J. Bounds was one of those people. A consummate lady, she believed if you could not say something good about someone, you should not say anything. Alice received her undergraduate and masters degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. For 30 years she supervised food service personnel in the Louisiana school system, retiring as the Child Nutritional Supervisor for Bossier Parish. Prior to her career with Bossier Parish, she was Supervisor of School Food Services for the Tennessee Department of Education. As a past president of the Louisiana School Food Services Association as well as past president of the Tennessee School Food Services Association, Alice was well respected in the field of nutrition. She was also an accomplished musician. She was offered a scholarship to study with Rudolph Ganz at the Chicago Music College but turned it down to continue her education in Tennessee. She later became the accompanist for the Knoxville Opera Association and after moving to Louisiana, was the organist for the Benton United Methodist Church. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Annabelle Bounds and brother Victor. Survivors include her brother Byron F. Bounds, Sr. and his wife Judy of Plano Texas; nephew Byron F. Bounds II and his wife Terri and children Justin, Rebecca, and Nathan of North Richland Hills, Texas; niece Leslie Workman and husband Troy and son Troy Lee of Overland Park, Kansas; nephew John E. Bounds and his partner Otto Bischoff of Dallas, Texas; and nephew Jeff Coffey and his partner Craig Stewart of Austin, Texas. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana with interment at Spring Place Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31.
