Brown, 1st Sgt. Kevin J.
1st. Sgt. Kevin J. Brown, 50, died May 3, 2012 at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Kevin was born in Arlington, Texas on August 25, 1961 to Gerald W. Brown and Lola E. Brown.
Kevin defended his country for 32 years while serving in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard at which time he served two tours in Iraq. He was awarded with numerous citations and commendations and was well respected by all who served with him. It is with great sadness that this Great American Hero was taken from us.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Brown, and his mother, Lola Brown.
Kevin is survived by his father, Gerald W. Brown and wife Joyce; brother, Aubrey Dale Brown and wife, Susie; stepbrother, Brian Pinkerton and two stepsisters, Tracy Clegg and Ashley Henslee, and also by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 9:15am at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211 Lane B.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think about what you meant to B Co, and to me as my 1SG, my boss and my friend!! Memories of things at work that made us all laugh! Some of the conversations we all would have in the mornings still run thru my mind! I’m glad I was able to be a part of UTES 2 with you if only for the short time I was there. I will take what I have learned from you and only Hope to become half the leader you were to us!! RIP Top!!! You are the sunshine now 🙂

i was proud to have served with Kevin in iraq in 04/05. this is a shock. my utmost condolences and sympathys. i could always count on him if the scouts needed anything from him in country.

I will miss a good friend and battle buddy. Thank you for the memories and all the times we shared. For all the years in the Army, for scary moments overseas in Iraq and times there filled with laughter. Good memories of a steadfast friend and mentor. Thank you for all. Now you guard Heaven’s Gates and keep a diligent watch. Thanks to my buddy. You will be greatly missed. I salute you my 1SGT Kevin J.
