Obituary of
Carson, Walter L.
After a six year battle with prostate cancer, Lynn Carson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 7, 2013. He was born in Ft. Worth on September 19, 1946 to Walter Pierce Carson and Edna Marie Wilson Carson. Lynn was a graduate of Haltom High School and Texas Christian University, where he played baseball on a scholarship. He spent his career in sales and management with Hobbs Trailers, Ryder Truck Leasing, and Paccar, Inc. Anyone who knew Lynn knew he was an avid sports lover. He saw the Cowboys play their first year in the Cotton Bowl and was a loyal fan win or lose; he watched every pitch of every Texas Rangers game; he also love Dirk and his Mavericks. His favorite college team of course was his beloved TCU Horned Frogs, wearing his purple every game day. If he wasn't watching sports, you could find him on the golf course. It didn't matter where he and Pam lived in the country, there was always a planned trip to Ft. Worth to watch the Colonial Golf Tournament. Lynn loved his day at the movies seeing almost every new release for years. The loves of his life, however, were his family. He was very proud of each of them and didn't hesitate to tell anyone who would listen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter "Shorty" Carson; and is survived by his adoring mother, Edna; his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Pam; his three daughters, Ronda (Steve) Hornisher, Stephanie Romeo, and Crystal (Heath) Grant; his five grandchildren, Raegan Sims, Blake Carson Hornisher, Sydney and Taylor Romeo, and Case Grant; and brother-in-law, Greg Brown. We can't forget his loving dogs, Sam and Sugar.
The family would like to thank Dr. Haskill (Gill) Kirkpatrick, Kathy, Amy, and the staff of Texas Oncology Presbyterian Dallas for providing such loving and personal care. We would also like to thank the staff of Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their compassionate care in his final days. Special thanks to the many friends who have supported and loved us through this journey.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse, 9428 Ed Robson Circle, Denton TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any cancer research foundation or animal rescue of your choice.
Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.

I’m sorry for your loss. I worked briefly with Mr. Carson at Ryder & another coworker mentioned to me about his passing. I just wanted his family to know that in the brief time that I worked at Ryder, he left a great impression. He was a good man.

I worked with Lynn at Ryder and actually worked for him when he became the District Manager in San Antonio. He was always very good to me and really went out of his way to support me – I am grateful to have known him. Pam, we met once at a company dinner and I offer my prayers for your family at this sad time.

Please accepty my condolences. I was a classmate of Lynn’s at Haltom High School. I am so glad I got to see Lynn at the 2009 Haltom High School Reunion. You both seemed so excited in talking about a move to Robson Ranch where Lynn could play golf all he wanted. In reading the obituary I see the dream came true. Please know you are in our prayers.

Pam,
I hope you are doing OK. It’s been such a long time since we’ve visited. Sorry it’s under these circumstances.
Lynn was such a great guy. He could always make me laugh. He influenced me and helped me tremendously back in our Ryder days. He continued to stay in touch, even after he left Ryder. He was a very loyal friend. I will never forget the great times that we all shared.
I know the days ahead will be a struggle. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Larry & Lindy
