Clampett, Martha M.


Martha McAlister Clampett passed away April 1, 2011 after a long illness. Martha was born August 16, 1929 in Mayfield, Kentucky. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Clampett and her children, Stephen and Cynthia Clampett of Farmers Branch, Texas, Laura Clampett-Olson of Kenosha, Wiscousin, Charles Clampett of St. Louis, Missouri, and Robert and Kathy Clampett of Carrollton, Texas. She is also survived by five special grandchildren, two exceptional great grandsons, and her sister Laura Harris of Richmond, Kentucky. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Orene McAlister, her brother Lt. General Robert C. McAlister, her son-in-law, Thomas Olson, and her granddaughter, Marilla Ann Clampett.
Martha graduated from Mayfield High School in May 1947 and attended Murray State College. Bill and Martha were married November 27, 1948 and moved to St. Louis while Bill finished his law degree at Washington University. They moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1950 where they spent 53 wonderful years of their lives. While in Springfield, Martha was a member of King
