“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Cook, Cathie L.
Born 01/04/1950 to Lloyd & Elma Turner in Memphis, TN, died on 09/26/2008. Cathie is survived by her husband of 28 years, Richard G. Cook, of Flower Mound, TX, her daughters and their families, Charla, David, Cate & Cara Truett, of Plano, Cayce, Steve, Cydnie, Nicolas, & Cecily Kaufman, of Lubbock, her baby sister and her husband, Tracie & Rick Stieg, her three nephews and their families, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved, older sister, Sheree Turner Huddleston. Cathie was a paralegal for many years, and she loved to travel, read, work puzzles, play dominoes, sew, attend car shows and especially to garden. Blessed with her grandmother's green thumb, Cathie spent her weekends pruning, weeding, seeding, and planting. Cathie loved to open her home and heart to family and friends. She could feed an army with her delicious cooking. Her proudest moments were watching her daughters receive their college diplomas and holding each of her five grandchildren. Cathie leaves a legacy of strength, generosity, laughter, love, and sunshine. The family thanks the loving and caring ICU nurses and staff of Denton Regional Medical Center. A service celebrating Cathie's life will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2:00, at Prestonwood Baptist Church's chapel, Plano, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (www.wildflower.org).
