Dowell, Virgil E.

Virgil Earl Dowell “Mike Bradley” lost his courageous battle with heart failure on Saturday October 18, 2008. Bradley’s sense of humor, smile and great DJ voice will be missed. It is with heavy hearts and much love that we send him off to his long dreamed of horse ranch so he may live a healthy, happy, and eternal life. He will always remain in our hearts and memories. He grew up in Cut N Shoot and Cleveland and lived most of his working life in Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas. Survived by his wife Charleen, children: Michael, Heather, Cindy Washlesky and Thomas White, and most important of all and the light of his life, his grandchildren: Savannah, Channing and Jessica. They made each day a bright new adventure and encouraged him to strive for another day to spend with them. Sisters: Gwenda Stephan and Bonnie Gayle Dowell. Bradley enjoyed a long radio career working with KDSX in Sherman, Rodriguez Communi-cations, KLTY, KESS, KXEB, KLAT, KRVA, KTCY, KSCS, WBAP, KXOL, KBUY and KILT. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, October 25th at North Dallas Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to Southwind Haven (Animal Rescue), 2207 Westmore-land Rd, Ovilla, TX 75154.

Is this the Virgil Dowell that worked for me in Tucson at K-HOS back in 1964? He was Bob Wolfe on the air here...I have a neat picture of him, Chuck Hall and myself at a swimming pool party. AUD5Hsblso have a picture of him at the control board of K-HOS. He was a friend of Dalton Turner (Ty Connor) who also worked with me....Jim Slone Tucson, Arizona
