Drechsler, Helen Helen S. Drechsler passed away peacefully Saturday evening, May 1st with her husband at her side. She was 79. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Martin and Edith Setzer, she was the second of four children. Helen was raised in Janesville, Wisconsin, where her two sisters now reside. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank, sons Thomas and Robert, daughter Cari Brose and grand-daughter Nora May Drechsler. Helen graduated from Janesville High School and attended Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia where she studied fashion design. She also met her husband Frank in Philadelphia and upon his graduation from Drexel University, he was recruited by an international oil company and they spent the next sixteen years in Southeast and South Asia. Their three children were born overseas and as a family they traveled extensively around the world. Helen and Frank relocated to Carrollton in 1982. Since her arrival on the local scene, Helen had been very active in the Greater Dallas Newcomers Club, particularly among the bridge groups. She was an accomplished duplicate bridge player and was the chairperson for several of the groups. She was also an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting, particularly water colors. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM , Friday May 7th at the North Dallas Funeral Home on Valley View, Farmers Branch. A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 8th at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.
