Duniven, Dorothy M.
Dorothy Marie Butler Duniven, 81, formerly of Wellington, Texas, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 in Lewisville, Texas. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 27th, at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Dallas Campus, located at 12123 Hillcrest, Dallas, Texas. Officiating is Neal Jeffrey, associate pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church. Arrangements are by North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 28th, at the Miami, Texas cemetery. Dorothy was born October 14, 1930 in Tulia, Texas to Thomas Brooks Butler and Mamie Ross Gidden Butler. She was married 39 years to Bob Duniven before his death in 1988. Dorothy graduated from Canyon High School in 1949 where she was the co-captain of the basketball team and played volleyball. She was selected senior class favorite in high school. She had a lifelong love of sports, enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play in little league and school sports, and was an avid Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboy fan. She was a homemaker, taught G.A.
