Ken was a hero for all of us to look up to, and we knew it as soon as he came to St. Andrew Lutheran Church after retirement. His service to our country and his service to his fellow man has always been outstanding. I will greatly miss talking with him every Sunday, serving with him, and seeing his smile. My deepest sympathies to Peggy, his daughters, and his family.

Ken was always a good big brother and always set an example to me of goodness; of being good in the world. When he went to Viet Nam during the war I prayed every day for his safety. In our later years we lived far apart but I always felt close to him no matter how far away our lives led us. One of my earliest memories of him was when I was about 4 or 5 and he was going out on a date. I begged him to take me along! Finally he relented and picked me up and carried me to the back porch and we just stood there looking at the moon. "You can't come with me but I just brought you as far as the moon", he told me. Then he took me back inside. I will miss having a big brother. He couldn't tease me enough!
