Obituary of
Grossman, Martin M.
Grossman, Martin M Martin M. Grossman of Dallas, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at his residence. Born in New York City, September 19, 1914, to Henry and Serena Weiss Grossman, he survived two brothers, Leslie and Harold, and three wives, Zelda Amdur, Lilian Zapruder and Jule Levy. He is survived by his children, Howard Grossman of Arlington, TX, and Leslee Rogers of Las Vegas, NV, stepdaughters, Myrna Reis and Connie Rudick, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martin was a Bronze Star recipient for his service in the First Armored Division during WWII, serving in both North Africa and Italy. For over 30 years, Mr. Grossman was a downton Dallas institution as the owner/proprietor of The Smoker's Shoppe on Commerce Street. He finally sold the shop to enjoy his retirement at the age of 82. He was also the Number One Fan of his Dallas Cowboys from their inception in 1960 until his death. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, at Temple Emanu-El Cemetary. A reception will be held the same day at 4 p.m. at Town Village North, 12271 Coit Road, Dallas. Contribution in Martin Grossman's memory may be made to the Jewish War Veterans Dallas office.
