Obituary of Gunnarson, Gregory B.

Gunnarson, Gregory Blake Age 43, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Las Colinas Medical Center in Irving, Texas after a brief illness from a rare bacterial infection. Gregory was born on June 6, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas in 1984 and the University of North Texas in 1990. Gregory served two years in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Gregory was in management with Luby's Cafeteria for many years and currently an associate manager with Wal-mart. Gregory is survived by his wife, Aleta Hargrove Gunnarson and his 6 year old daughter Jordyn Blake Gunnarson. He is also survived by his parents Marilyn and Ben Gunnarson of Dallas, his sisters, Andrea Janak and husband Dean of Flower Mound, Texas, Patricia Grossman and husband Steve of Houston, Texas and niece and nephew Allison and Grayson Janak. Additionally, he is survived by an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends. A dedicated father, Gregory was loving and loyal to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible remembrances can be made to Jordyn's school: The Highlands School, 1451 E. Northgate Drive, Irving, Texas 75062. Memorial service, King of Glory Lutheran Church, Saturday, December 12 at 11:00AM. 6411 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, Texas. Private burial will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
