Hamlett, Loneta White Born December 14, 1911 in Rising Star, Texas and died November 11, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Mitchell White and mother, Artie Pearl Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hamlett who died in January 1967; sisters, Ruth White Anderson and Beatrice White Ghormley, brother, Leroy White and great grandson, Jake Thompson. Survivors include daughter, Shirley Cary and husband Glen of Dallas, daughter Beverly Perry and husband, Don of Oklahoma City; sister, Peggy Gray of Granbury; brother, Carl White of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Lance Cary and wife, Gail of Coppell, Shelley Cary of Coppell, Misty Thomason and husband, Terry of Anadarko, Gena Thompson and husband Jerry of Grapevine; six great grandchildren, Katy Cary, Wynn Hamlett Cary, Zach Thomason, Grant Thomason, Madeline Stoner, and Molly Stoner. Loneta and Vernon Hamlett lived in Rising Star from birth until 1945 when they moved to Kermit, Texas, where they lived and raised their daughters. After Vernon’s death she moved to Dallas in 1967 and joined the Park Cities Baptist Church where she was a member of the Loreta Craig Class. Her funeral will be held in the Ellis Chapel at the Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas at 11am, Saturday, Nov. 14. Visitation prior to service at 10am. Burial will be held following the funeral at the Rising Star Cemetery at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, Texas; Baylor College of Medicine, Cullen Institute, Attention Ophthalmology Department, 6565 Fannin, N.C. Houston, Texas 77030 or a charity of your choice.
