Obituary of
Heifner, Weldon E.
Weldon E. Heifner 87, died February 10, 2012. Born April 24, 1923, in McKinney, Texas to Irby and Pearl Heifner. Predeceased by parents and brothers Charles, Linus and Ethard and sister Leona. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Annette and daughter and son-in-law Martha and Dave Tremaine of Panama City Beach, Florida; grandsons Bobby, Jack, Nick, Tommy and wife Leah and great grandaughter Araya. Also, sisters Mabel Rutledge, Dorothy Furr, Margie and husband John Morgan and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Weldon was a 1941 graduate of Boyd High School, McKinney, Texas then attended North Texas University with basketball scholarship until he left to serve in the U. S. Army during WWII. He retired from E. I. duPont de Nemours & Co., Inc. in 1981 after 35 years of service and started Art Forever, a wholesale art and frame company, and Preston Art Center. Weldon was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church and the Berean Sunday School Class for more than 50 years, serving in many capacities. He coached youth baksetball teams at church and Hyer School. He was a caring friend and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His wit and humor will be remembred. Memorial Service Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 2:00pm at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel, 3933 Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. Burial With Honors will be held at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Park Cities Baptist Church, 50+ Ministries, or charity of choice.
