Obituary of Jones, Eva L.

Eva Lahoma Tucker Jones passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. Eva was born in Frederick, Oklahoma, the youngest of three children to Ida and Arthur Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Etta Tucker Loutherback; and her brother, G.W. Tucker. She married Thomas Scott Jones on May 3, 1936, who also preceded her in death on May 1, 1996. Eva moved to Dallas and lived with her daughter, Joan, until her death. She leaves her son, Terry Scott Jones and his wife, Petra Ridel-Jones, of Minneola, Texas; her daughter, Judy Francis Graham of Cameron Park, California; her daughter, Joan Francene Jones of Dallas, Texas; her granddaughter, Georgiana Graham Boss and her husband, Walter Boss, of Antioch, California; and her grandson, Kristopher Sean Graham of San Jose, California; as well as many nieces and nephews. At age 95, she lived a long and full Christian life. She touched so many lives in such a positive way during her life. We will miss her laughter and humor. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Second Baptist Church in Lubbock where she was still a member. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.

Heaven has a new angel. Mother lived a long Christian life and is now with daddy and her family. I will miss you mother but I also know you are with our Lord and in a better place than we are now. I love you.

So sad to learn of Eva`s demise. Will never forget how she and Tom took me and my family into their home in 1960, when I was transferred from Childress to Lubbock. She was an Angel in disguise!

What a joy to see such a loving family care for each other!

We were blessed to know “Aunt Eva” and to know that her beauty wasn’t just skin deep.

May God continue blessing you all, as you go through this time of adjusting to a new normal.
