Was born in Providence R.I., October 14, 1928 to James F. and Hope Gormley Kiley. Bob commenced his career in the cotton business with the renowned firm of O’Donnell Brothers in Boston and New York having followed his father into the cotton business. After service with the U.S. Army in Europe, he came to Dallas where he met and married his wife Lenora Clark. In 1956, he joined the firm of Thomas Rice & Co. (Later Kerr Steamship Co.) serving as District Manager in Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He was invited by the Peoples Republic of China to com to Peking in 1978 and was instrumental in establishing their steamship operations in the United States. After retirement from Kerr, he was Gulf Manager for Merit Steamship Co. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 56 years. He is survived hy his brother James of Palm Beach, Fl; sons Gary and Steve of Dallas; 3 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was very active in Republican politics serving in various positions. He was highly respected in the cotton industry, a devout Catholic, devoted family man and a great friend. Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Lower School Chapel, 6255 E. Mockingbird, 9:300 am Friday. Memorials should be made to the American Heart Assn, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
