Obituary of Lynch III, John J.

John Joseph Lynch, III passed away on Wednesday, February 15th at age 70. He grew up in Independence, Missouri and made his home for many years in Blue Springs, Missouri before moving to Dallas, Texas. He served honorably in the United States Air Force with the 6924th Squadron on a tour that included stations in Germany and Vietnam, working in the Security Service. He received the National Defense Service Medal, as well as a Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. After his military service he graduated from Central Missouri State College and was a CPA. He retired from his position as Director of Finance at FOX 4 Dallas. While John was with us, he took great joy in fishing, photography, golf, good food, and a great bargain. He could be relied on to make us laugh at any time, and brought smiles to our faces and hearts. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Nancy, and his daughters Laura, Nicole, and Mindy and five grandchildren, Becky, Zack, Alec, Cole, and Aiden. Although we lay his body to rest, his spirit remains with us as we find joy in the memory of all the good times we shared. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:30 am at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211, Lane C. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Please send the family condolences and sign the guest book on this website.

I’m so sorry to hear about his passing. He was the best boss a person could have. I worked with him for 9 years and without him there my job would not have been the same. I will miss him. I don’t believe there has been a day that goes by that I don’t remember something about him that makes me smile. He will always be remembered in my heart.

I first met John in 1992 when he came to work at Morgan Management Corp and we quickly became friends. He was a master at creating mischief and made work fun like no one had ever done before or has since. A few years later he married my best friend and became family. I’ll miss the sparkle in his eyes, the laughter in his voice and his teasing nature. My heart is broken John and I’ll miss you very much.
