Obituary of McDonald, Dorothy I.

Dorothy Ida Schwab McDonald died peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the age of 91. She was born September 6, 1921 in Seattle, Washington to William A. and Ida Minnie (Zumpf) Schwab, grew up and attended High School on Queen Anne Hill. She went on to the University of Washington studied history and pledged Kappa Delta. After the start of WWII, she went to work at Boeing Aircraft, where she met her husband, Duane Taylor McDonald. They were married 62 years and enjoyed a good life together. He passed away in 2004. She was the very dedicated mother to Michael David (Marty Eckrem), of Flagstaff, AZ, Patrick William (deceased 1995) and Heather Ann (Larry Powell) of Carrollton, TX. She lived on Mercer Island, WA for 45 years where she had her closest friends, Palm Desert, CA for another 18 years before moving to Richardson, Texas six years ago to be closer to her daughter. She loved the outdoors, gardening, learning, reading and traveling worldwide. She enjoyed volunteering for Children
