āI highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brotherās arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.ā

Obituary of
Moore, Donald V.
Moore Sr., Dr. Donald V. Born December 29, 1915 in York, Nebraska. Passed December 16, 2009 at the age of 93 into eternal life with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Don was a good and faithful servant of God who was loved and respected by many. His dedication and perseverance were evident in everything he did. After receiving his PhD in Parasitology from Rice University he taught at University of Texas and New York University College of Medicine. As a Professor of Microbiology and Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical School from 1955 to 1988, his teaching and research changed and saved countless lives. He was active in many professional societies and proudly proctored many Family Practice Exams. His love for his church was abundant. As a member for 54 years, Don served in virtually every capacity possible at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He also served the Diocese of Dallas and the Anglican School of Theology. He enjoyed many years as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. In 1942 Don married the love of his life, Josephine, and spent 53 years as her adoring husband. Jo died in 1995 but his love for her is eternal. He deeply loved and sacrificed for his family. He is cherished by all survivors; sister Virginia, daughter and husband Linda and Frank Gay, son and wife Don and Wynn Moore, grandchildren Vincent, Jessica, Mandy, Jason, Dara and Drew, 8 great-grandchildren and others. Services Tues. Dec. 29, 2pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5923 Royal Lane, Dallas, Tx. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts or St. Luke's.
