Obituary of Owens Sr., Jeffrey D.

Jeffrey Dean Owens, Sr. passed away August 12, 2011 in Frisco, Texas. He was 56 years old. Jeff was born on July 2, 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the son of Garth and Lucy Owens. Early in his career, Jeff traveled extensively working in several countries but Texas was always his home. He was a self-made man attending college classes in the evening while working during the day. He took great pride in providing well for his family. Jeff was a very kind, generous, loving man and will be missed by all who knew him. During his career, Jeff earned several patents and awards but was very modest about his accomplishments. At the time of his death, he was employed for many years by Maxium Integrated Products. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy. Jeff leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate, Linn; sons Jeffrey Jr. of Austin, Chad and his wife Kendyl of Mabank, daughters Laura of Dallas, Bethany of Frisco, grandchildren Hayden and Gracie Henry of Mabank, father Garth Owens and brother Glen Owens both of Dallas. Jeff also leaves behind his "four-legged furry person" Sandy Linn. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Brooks Family Chapel of the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Please sign the guest book and/or send private condolences to the family on this website.

Jeff was my Uncle. He was an amazing man.I was blessed to have had the opportunity to have him as part of my family for many years.I spent almost every summer, christmas break, and holiday with this family for the majority of my childhood. My first memories as a small child include Jeff making computers talk, and gadgets to place outside the bedroom window to sound an alarm if someone tried to sneak out. This was before we had Nintendos.LOL. We were still playing Atari’s back then.He was the most intellegent man I have ever known. He was also an amazing father.I remember him carrying Laura and Jeffrey outside on his hip as small children, to point out the stars. He was always teaching them something or explaining how things worked. He loved and adored his children very much.In addition to everything else,he was a kind and generous man.He never once turned any of us (nieces and nephews) away, and he almost always had a silent part in fianancing someone with things that they needed. Sometimes it was school clothes or supplies. Other times it was for something fun, like trips to Six Flags, Wet N Wild, the zoo, and many more places that we would have never had the opportunity to have had otherwise. He did these things out of the kindness of his heart. Not to be recognized for, but from the love he had in his heart. He truly impacted all of our lives in a positive way. He was loved very much, and will be greatly missed.

Jeff’s father Garth and my mother were siblings, so Jeff was my first cousin. Although we lived in different cities for our entire lives, I had the privilege of his company several times over the years. What a kind, intelligent, and loving person he was! I am blessed with having such a wonderful family, and Jeff was certainly no exception.

He was truly a wonderful man and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
