Pactor, Sidney D.

Passed away peacefully on April 9, 2009. David was born on August 4 , 1915 in Vincennes, IN, the youngest of seven children. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942. His troop transport passed through Pearl Harbor exactly one year after the December 7, 1941 attack. He served in and around Khorramshahr, Iran, supporting the supply routes into the Soviet Union. He moved to Dallas shortly after the war and has been a Texas resident until the time of his death, living in the Dallas area and Longview.

David was a treasured father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend to all of those who had the pleasure of sharing him over the many years. His true love and passion throughout his life was quite simply his family and friends; it was in evidence every day of his life through his gentle and compassionate nature and personality.

David is survived by children David & Carole Pactor, Sidney & Barbara Pactor, Alan & Roz Pactor, Joni & Jerry Lundy, Larry & Susan Schor, Mark & Ruthie Schor, and Liz & Eddie Robertson. Poppi also loved and enjoyed his grandchildren Elizabeth & John Jones, David & Avit Pactor, Josh Pactor, Nicole & Michael Graham, Crystin Pactor, Julian Schor, Aviv Schor, Adam Schor, Kevin Paul, Eric Paul, Meredith Schor, Wendy Schor, Joe Schor and Sam Schor and his great-grandchildren Haylie Graham and Alanis Pactor. Special nieces and nephews in David’s life were Bobbie Cohen, Lynne & Gary Wachter, Michael & Barbara Pactor, Beverly & Bruce Laves, Pris & Stan Salpeter, Jeff & Karen Gelfand, and Felice & Bill Aisenberg.

Graveside services will be held at Shearith Israel Cemetery, 4634 Dolphin Rd, Dallas TX on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David’s memory to The American Heart Association (donate.
