“I highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brother’s arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.”

Obituary of
Palmer Jr., Robert ("Bob") A.
Robert Ancel ("Bob") Palmer, Jr., passed away in Dallas, Texas, on Monday, June 21, 2011 after a brief illness. He was 78 years old. Bob was born April 6, 1933, at Media Luna Ranch, Cameron County, Texas, and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. His parents were "Ancel" Palmer and Dorothy Monsur. Bob met Bee Bee Cottingham while in high school in McAllen, Texas. They fell in love and were married December 25, 1954, while Bob was attending Texas A & I University. Upon graduating, he served as a lieutenant in the Signal Corps. After leaving the Army, he was employed by IBM. He spoke of it as one of the best decisions he ever made, largely because it was there he met many of his lifelong friends. He moved his family to Dallas in 1966. Eventually, Bob left IBM and owned computer and oil & gas businesses. He became a pilot. There were few things he loved as much as flying and the friends he met through aviation. For many years he could be found working, flying and having fun somewhere at Addison Airport, often accompanied by his favorite dog and "fifth kid," Frankie. Bob is survived by loving wife, Bee Bee, son and daughter in law, Robert and Melody Palmer, daughter, Patricia Barnard, daughter, Janus Alberts, daughter and son in law, Julie and David Setzer, and granddaughters, Jordan and Hannah Palmer. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 24, at Ellis Chapel, Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Memorial gifts may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital.
