āI highly recommend this funeral home and crematorium; when I had to make and pay for my brotherās arrangements across state lines, Evelyn Montonya, in particular, demonstrated both compassion and professionalism and made a very sad and difficult situation much easier. Many thanks.ā

Obituary of
Rodman, Martin J.
We are pained and full of sorrow to report the death of Martin Judah Rodman, age 80, residing in Dallas, Texas who died on Monday, December 20, 2010 from natural causes. Martin was born on November 6, 1930 in New York City and was raised in The Bronx as one of two children born to the late Rose Levine and Philip Rodman. Martin attended The Bronx High School of Science and received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Arts degrees from The City College of New York, and later received his Master of Business Administra - tion degree from UT Dallas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years and was honorably discharged. He excelled in his career of 30 years as an accountant and executive for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), traveling throughout the world, which he loved. While stationed in Munich, Germany, he met Irma Bendel MacKenzie, his wife of 38 years. They were wedded in 1972 and raised their family of three children in Dallas, Texas. Only 18 days before Martin passed away, Irma died from pancreatic cancer; Martin took exquisite care of Irma and their closeness is evident from the proximity of their deaths. After retiring from AAFES, Martin worked for the Dallas Museum of Art, a testimony to his love of all arts. He also taught finance and accounting at Southern Methodist University. Martin was the devoted father to the late Christina MacKenzie. Martin is survived by his sister Enid Flender, son Alexander MacKenzie, daughter Sarah Rodman Scott, sonin- law Daniel Scott, niece Nicole Chalamet, nephew Rodman Flender, and granddaughters Alexis and Caroline Scott. Martin will be greatly missed by those that knew him. He was an avid reader, an intellect, and a quintessential renaissance man. He valued education as an absolute priority and was dedicated to fostering scholarly pursuits for his family. He will always be remembered by his children as a nurturing and loving father. He will also be remembered as an extremely unique individual who enjoyed engaging in discussions with people from all walks of life about any and all topics, always wanting to learn new insights and knowledge. A funeral service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas on Monday, December 27, at 10:30 a.m.
