Obituary of
Scifo, Michael A.
Michael A. Scifo, 59, beloved husband, father, step-father, brother, uncle, and friend went peacefully to the Lord on July 15, 2012, in Dallas, TX, near his home in Carrollton, TX, his home for nearly 30 years.
Mike was born June 9, 1953, to Michilina Guzzardi and Anthony Scifo in Chicago, IL.
His talent for camera repair and technical coordination began in childhood, where he had the inclination for fixing and assembling around the house.
Growing up in a large, joyful family in Chicago, he was a loving family man.
He obtained an Associates Degree in Electronics and was in the Air Force Reserves for 2 years.
Married on December 18, 1983 in Franklin Park, IL to Lynn Vonderhaar, they celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary last year.
Mike ran a camera repair business, ICT, for 29 years, which he proved to excel in ability. He then went on to work in the Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD as a security officer. Through these professions, he had the opportunity to become friends with many wonderful people.
He was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic parish in Carrollton.
In addition to his technical hobbies, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and dog Annie.
Mike will be missed but leaves special memories to those who survived him: wife Lynn; sons Michael, Jeff, and Gary and wife Elizabeth; grandsons Brendan and Matthew; mother Michilina; brother Anthony and wife Alice; sister Angela; brother Joseph and wife Ruth; brother Jerome; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were privileged to know him and love him.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 5:00-8:00pm in the Chapel of North Dallas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10:30am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1705 E. Peters Colony, Carrollton, Texas 75007. Interment to follow.

I did not hear of Mike’s death until 2017 & I was shocked! I occasionally worked with him at ICT & I remember well his great sense of humor & while he worked he would always listen 2 his favorite radio station, KLUV. I will miss him very much & my prayers go to his entire family.

Mike:
You were my friend and co-worker.
I will greatly miss your witty remarks and friendly smile. I consider myself privileged
to have known you.
Each time I “work” school traffic, I will think of you and all those times we complained about it. You are probably somewhere
right now directing traffic, or repairing
God’s great camera.
So long “good friend”!
