Obituary of
Scoper, Gordon A.
A loving father, grandfather and husband, Gordon Arnold Scoper, passed away at his home on September 11, 2008. He was born in Pass Christian, MS on May 17, 1935. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Bertha Scoper, and his brother Gerald Scoper. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathryn Scott Scoper, daughter Genie Howard Masters, and her husband, Ronnie; son, Scott Scoper and his wife, Jennifer; brother, Vincent Scoper, Jr. and his wife, Dell of Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Hannah Howard, Griffin Scoper and step-grandchildren, Hunter Howard of Houston, TX and Zach Masters. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BS in Pharmacy in 1958. He was a dedicated employee for Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company for 32 years. Gordon was an avid golfer and tennis player and loved his Lord and his family above all. He never met a stranger and had a wonderful sense of humor and a joy for life. He always looked for the best in people and he will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. He was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10:00 in Ellis Chapel. Interment will be held next week in Clinton, MS and a Memorial Service will be held following at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA where he was a member for 34 years. Gordon had a special place in his heart for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN so the family requests that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to them.
