Sorrells, Nancy R.
Early Thursday morning, August 9, 2012, a new angel winged her way to Heaven. Nancy Ray (Baumgard- ner) Sorrells passed away in her sleep at the Emeritus at Farmers Branch assisted living facility after a long battle with dementia that resulted from a brain aneurism in 1998. Nancy was born on October 7, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ray and Doris Baumgardner. Ray was an Army Air Force flight instructor with Spartan who trained pilots during WWII. Doris Baumgardner was a registered nurse. The family moved to Fort Stockton, Texas and Ray started an aviation service. Nancy grew up in Fort Stockton and graduated from FS High School in 1960. Nancy met Ralph Sorrells while attending Texas Tech Univer- sity in Lubbock, Texas and they were married on March 28th, 1964 in Fort Stockton, Texas. Nancy taught English and Spanish at Ropesville High School to maintain their small house and help pay Ralph
