Obituary of Springer, Frank, Jr. S.

Springer Jr., Frank Stewart On November 19, 2009, Frank Stewart Springer, Jr., devoted husband, loving father, beloved grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully from complications due to lung cancer. He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Emily Springer of Dallas, daughter and son-in-law Amy and Damien Zinck, and precious granddaughter Olivia Zinck of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Artiestyne Springer, and a sister Marilyn Sue Harris. Born on February 4, 1938 in Texarkana, Texas, Frank graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, followed by a Masters degree in Business Administration. Frank began his career at Collins Radio working in Research and Development. Later he was employed by Blair Engineering Sales before starting his own company, Springer Technical Sales, in 1971. In 2003, Frank chose to no longer be "business distracted". With a spirit of adventure, Frank loved his family unconditionally, valued his friends, and was an enthusiastic servant for his Lord. Frank's love for Barbara during their 45 years of marriage was most recently demonstrated through his devotion to Barbara during her recovery from leukemia. He was a member of the Salesmanship Club and served on the Board of Dallas Christian Leadership. He was a faithful member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and serving as Elder for many years. Frank had a heart for evangelism and missions, not only in the community, but also around the world. Mission ministries included travels to Romania, Cuba, and India. A Memorial service will be held Monday, November 23, 4 pm, at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 3821 University Blvd. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Missions Department; Salesmanship Club of Dallas, or the American Cancer Society.
