Stanbery, Lloyd E.
Lloyd Eugene Stanbery, a faithful
servant of the Lord, passed away
Feb. 19, 2009 in Dallas. Born Jan.
5, 1925 in Canton, TX to the late
Clyde and Essie Stanberry, Gene
was a WWII veteran.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 20, from
6:00-8:00 PM at North Dallas
Funeral Home. Funeral: 1:00 PM,
Saturday in the chapel at North
Dallas Funeral Home. Interment:
Restland Cemetery.
After 29 years with Braniff
Airlines, Gene began Do-Les of
Dallas, providing fine custom upholstery
to many homes in the
Dallas area. Anyone who knew
Gene, understood the importance
of music in his life. He started the
Tuesday night jam at Farmers
Branch Senior Center, sang regularly
at local nursing homes, his
church and at many area jams.
Gene believed that "wherever two
or more are gathered, there shall be
music." Gene was a member of the
Senior Golf League at L.B
Houston Golf Course and was the
recipient of many awards, one of
which was a Hole-In-One award.
Gene loved to travel and was blessed
with two wonderful travel companions;
his first wife Dorotha,
who predeceased him, and his second
wife, Jeannie.
Gene was predeceased by his parents,
first wife Dorotha, and a
brother, Dewayne. Survivors include
his wife of 15 years, Jeannie
Stanbery, Children: Les Stanbery
and wife Karin, Gail Estes and husband
Landy, Step-children: Ami
Holt and husband Paul, Suzy
Coker, Alan Coker and wife
Dawn, one brother: Bobby
Stanberry, Grandchildren: Kristina
and Gerry Garcia, Kellie Jackson,
Erica and David Bohls, Stacy
Estes, Dustin Holt, Taylor Holt,
Austin Coker, Katie Coker, Paige
Coker, Great-grandchildren:
Brandon Jackson, Jonathan Garcia
and Evan Garcia, along with a
hosts of friends.
