Dr. Whitworth was the best Dr. I ever had. I have had several years to think about him and he was just a grand fellow. Always up, joking laughing but right on the business. I miss him.

I am saddened to hear of Dr. Whitworth’s death. My husband (who also recently passed away) and I thought the world of Dr. Whitworth. He was truly a man that cared about his patients. He would look you in the eyes and you just knew that he had your best interest at heart. Truly a kind and generous man. One consolation I have is that he and my husband are now in the presence of an almighty God that has wrapped His arms around them and healed them completely. I would have loved to been there when they saw each other for the first time on that side of heaven. He was a good doctor, a good friend to us. I’m sorry for his partner’s and his family’s loss. Some things we just aren’t able to understand here, but Dr Whitworth and my husband (and of course many, many others) are seeing things much clearer now.

I know his patients truly valued him they told me this many times. My Prayers are with Bill and his wonderful Parents and Family.

  5. Mike Gooden says:

I had been a patient of Dr. Whitworth for less than a year. But in that span of time, he had me “on the road to recovery” in no time. He had me visit many different kinds of physicians and do all kinds of tests to check for various items that I had not even thought of. Since I am a senior, he realized that if I was to make it to the next level, I needed to “pay attention” to all parts of my body. He is responsible for making me “more aware”; and for that I will always be grateful. What a great doctor and someone I will miss. Once he had to leave, he transferred his practice to Dr. Patil who is just like him as it relates to “patient care”. I know he picked her because he wanted to continue his medical legacy. Not only was Brent wise and caring, he was a good and decent man. My prayers go out to his family.

    Regards,

    Mike Gooden

I will forever hold precious memories of Brent. From the time we shared wonderful times at Bowie Jr. High to his valedictorian speech at graduation-it was always clear he would do great things. We made contact off and on through the years and I regret I did not know of his illness. I know you will celebrate his life and miss him here on Earth but heaven cheers a new angel in heaven.

Dr. Whitworth was one of the two best physicians I have ever had in my 64 year lifetime. I kidded him unmercifully and I got as good as I gave. He was a straight shooter and great guy. He got sick before I moved to Austin and the practice was never the same. My parents and sister in law still have the practice doctors as their physicians but Doc B. was a pearl. I miss him

Was so saddened today while visiting at Presbyterian in Dallas to learn of the passing of Brent. He was not only my physician for over 5 years but a very dear friend and wonderful person. Until a few months ago we kept in touch by email but I let time get away & lost touch. I have missed him so much in the office since his illness & will continue to miss him always. Love & sympathy.

As a patient, cancer survivor and health care provider I can say Dr. Whitworth and I connected on many levels. There is not enough space on this page to tell you what a wonderful and compasionate person/Dr he was. They say that God’s timing is always right. Not a second to soon or a second to late. I know for myself and those who loved him, it just seemed to soon.
