Obituary of Williams, III, Dr. Phillip E.

On Saturday, June 16, 2012, the Lord brought to Heaven the beloved son of Dr. Phil and Bobbie Sue Williams. In the short span of his life, Bo Williams accomplished so much. He was born in Dallas on August 26, 1971, where he attended elementary schools at Saint Michael All Angels Episcopal School and St. Marks. He attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Virginia Episcopal High School in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1990 where he excelled in academics and sports. He was a member of the football and soccer teams. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and a pre-med major. He was an avid Longhorn fan. Dr. Williams graduated with honors from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana in May, 2001. In 2006 he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Later, he completed Fellowships at National Hospital Queen Square in London, England and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Returning to Dallas he began private practice in Internal Medicine at Texas Health Resources - Presbyterian Hospital - Dallas. In his general practice, Dr. Williams was known for his extraordinary care of his patients. He went above and beyond, making house calls and staying always available to those in need. He had a wonderful rapport with all his patients. Upon hearing of their doctor's passing, many of his patients gathered around the family to praise the warmth and caring that "Dr. Bo" exhibited. Dr. Williams was a member of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church where he was christened. He was on the Board of the Citizens Academy of the F.B.I and of Reachout Home Care, Inc. A member of Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. He liked travel and sports - including hunting and fishing at Coon Creek Club in Athens, Texas and golfing as a member of Dallas Country Club. The Williams family is very close-knit. Bo's parents, Phil and Bobbie Sue, and siblings, Liesl, Derick, and Jewelee Ann look to the Lord for guidance and comfort and to each other and friends for strength in such trying times. Bo will be sorely missed by his friends, patients, and especially his family. In his all too brief life, Bo touched so many lives. His influence, kind spirit, and gentle nature will live on long after his passing. Longfellow wrote in his poem, The Psalm of Life, about great men like Dr. Bo Williams, who leave behind a permanent legacy. Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time; Bo, we all will miss you. Your love, influence, and memories have left lasting footprints in our lives and on the sands of time. Dr. Bo Williams is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Earle Williams, Jr.; Liesl Williams Porter, sister, her husband Bill and their children Lily Ann Porter & William Walter Porter, Jr.; Frederick Beazley ("Derick") Williams, brother; Jewelee Ann Williams Lancaster, sister, her husband John and their children, John Wesley Lancaster, Mary Elinor Lancaster, Lynch Pryor Lancaster, and Emily Oliver Lancaster; Mr. James Olson Williams, Uncle; Dr. Craig Edward Williams, Uncle, his wife, Jamie, and their children Ward, Derrin, and Dr. Todd Williams and their spouses; and Martha Elder Williams, Aunt, her husband Wendell and their children Pam, Jeff and Amy who live in Avon Park, Florida. The family deeply appreciates the incredible outpouring of love and support from dear friends and to also acknowledge their gratitude to Capera Ryan, who has recently touched his life in a special way. A Memorial Service followed by a church reception will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 4 P.M. at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Saint Michael Episcopal Church, Salesmanship Club of Dallas or the Salvation Army. Please send family condolences and sign the guestbook on this website.

It is my prayer that God consoles and comforts all of those who have been impacted by the loss of Dr. Willliams, III. I knew him as a doctor who had enough time to listen to his patients and follow up on their progress. Rest in PEACE, doc.
